Beginnings

On behalf of ... well, me, I would like to welcome you to the Mark DeRosa.com Community Blog.

There. It's open.

The rest is up to you, for I've decided to launch this as an open blog, which means that anyone can post after registering (for free). I am the moderator of the blog, which means that I reserve the right to delete any entry that contains threats, personal attacks, or trollish crap with no redeeming value to this site or to society as a whole. Use a little profanity if you want; after all, this is the Internet. Just don't try to base your writing style upon it. Trust me, it won't work. There can only be one Norman Mailer.

Remember, the subject of this blog is Mark DeRosa and related topics. For the sake of your fellow posters, stay focused!

These same simple rules apply to commenters as well as posters.

Other than the moderation and the occasional post, I plan to start by taking a hands-off approach to this blog and just seeing what happens.

So have fun. Be clear. Respect each other. I'll see you down the page.

Mark: I'll send some fan mail in a more conventional way, later. The Cubs are down, 2-0. And you're going back to Wrigley. My key word to students is "faithful." Hang in there, never give up, never stop trying, & do the right thing. The Red Sox of '04 were down, 3-0, took one game at a time, & went to the Series. The Yankees couldn't win that one game. Perhaps the Cubs of '07. The Phoenix Suns of '93, with Charles Barkley, also had a "down 2-0" scenario, & came back to win, 3-2. All one can do is try. You're a welcome addition to the Cubs, Mark. I like it, when a Jersey kid makes good (I was born in Teaneck, & lived in Englewood & Bergenfield; a few centuries ago!). When a FOX broadcaster talked about your background, & how much we have in common, it was easy to become a Mark DeRosa fan (even though I'm surrounded by Cardinal fans!). We'll see what happens tonight. I'll be listening. Take care.

I became a big fan of DeRosa in 2007, watching the games before they got to the play-offs. Seems like Mark would get a hit or manage to get an RBI somehow. Every time he came to the plate, he would make something happen. I continue to be a DeRo fan to this moment. I was scared when I heard about his hospitalization earler this year. Needless to say all is well. After the game on Sunday, 08/24, the network interviewed DeRo, and he said he had no explaination for it, but he is playing the best ball he has played in his life. I think it says it all about this guy. Go Cubs, go DeRosa. Lets get one for Harry, Jack, Ronnie, and everyone else who has stuck with them. 100 years is long enough. DeRo is my HeRo.
